Even if you think, you’ve seen everything with CSS, then, some day, you dip into something new. It is already common practice to make a css-reset (yahoo, eric meyer, drupal, YAML to name a few) to get your audiences browsers in order. But the last days in one of my current projects I was facing some strange behaviour in A-Grade Browsers.
So here is my tipp for the CSS-Reset to add:
/* position body to full size */
body {bottom:0; left:0; right:0; position:absoute; top:0;}
This just tells the browser that the body is absolutely positioned from left to right and top to bottom. This was very useable for me.
Update: Looks like, even though you get a strict move, it can produce problems in browser when resizing. So only use it punctual and globally. I used it to fix some Odd Behaviour in Opera.
About a Year ago I was writing about a Sphinx Plugin for WordPress. Now Sphinx is running on the WordPress Site handling the full-text search on the Plugins Directory.
Hey Kids out there! If you think, the officials won’t google you to stop you from doing what you want to do, you should read about an artist that was arrested because her tag could be found on myspace. This story should remind us all to keep anonymous as much as possible online.
Well, mhm, the sad side of the story is, that this artist was not only very talky on myspace, she was as well on the police station and did even send a “partner in crime” to the police as well (reported by the newspaper press). That is additionally very hard for any of the kids, because even the local officals say that “Unless you catch them in the act, it’s very difficult to arrest anybody,†(Detective Raymond Emrich) so factually little tracks are left. So take care of your online marketing kids! SEO suxx.
The website the artist was using was: Myspace.
