The best thing for a webdesigner and webdeveloper that happened after the development of HTML/XHTML and CSS came to an end was Opera and Firefox. First it was Opera that helped to gain access to the web again, afterwards Shootingstar Firefox took the Field with ease: DOM Inspector, the Webdeveloper Extension and now Firebug since some time. It’s not a question anymore which Browser to use to design and style your pages, it’s just a matter of choice. I do it that way: Opera still leads the Desgin & Style front in terms of compability and speed and therefore is my first choice to display my work to me. Firefox with Firebug comes into action if there is anything to analyze from DOM to CSS. Sometimes there still is the need to activate the DOM Inspector as well. Afterwards crappy IE 6 needs to be checked for all the old pals. Mostly that’s it, only if you forget to set the background color of the body Safari will do really ugly shit while not painting the canvas.
